8 days to go and a major IT disaster.

Just when things are hotting up and we are spending all day on the computer, my PC decides to throw a wobbler and the motherboard gave up the ghost. Fortunately I had most important things, like my forthcoming book, all my bird records since the year dot on Wildlife Recorder and many of the Wader Quest papers backed up. But, as is always the case, sadly not all, and try as I might I can't remember what I have lost. All Elis' photos on my PC are only copies anyway so I think we will survive, at least I hope so but all the photos I have collected recently from other photographers may well be lost to us. Oh well, we'll just have to go out and take our own then won't we!

Also a little unsettling is news from Thailand that Peter Ericsson went to look for the spoonies at Pak Thale, where we hope to see them, and reports that there were none there! They are usually in by now he says, lets hope they are just a little delayed somewhere and not missing altogether.
C'mon guys, you can do it, we're all rooting for you!
