Summary of UAE leg of Wader Quest

Red-wattled Lapwing
A very short time was available so we had to make it count, and thanks to Tommy Pedersen the UAE recorder and long standing friend of ours we did.

We had few target species, but due to a piece of good fortune we were lucky enough to add Sociable Lapwing to that list of target species. They are very scarce visitors and we were extremely lucky that they stayed for our visit, it's a shame the Caspian Plover wasn't so obliging, leaving well before our arrival.
White-tailed Lapwing

We arrived in the UAE with a WQ list of 46, we saw 28 species of which 6 were new for the list so we left the UAE with a WQ total of 52.
