Wader Quest equipment at work!

We were pleased to see some photographs taken in Peru of the nets that we had supplied being used in earnest. As our experience with the Wash Wader Ringing Group taught us, you have to be a hardy sort of person to be wader ringer, and it seems from this photo that living in the tropics doesn't change things much.

We are also delighted to report that the nets we ordered for the Magellanic Plover project have now arrived in Chile and we hope to see them in action pretty soon. In the meantime our man in Punta Arenas, Ricardo Matus has sent us this photo of a couple of young Magellanic Plovers that he came across the other day. It was Ricardo's seven year old son that found them and thought they were 'funny looking stones'. It is quite sad to know that usually they only manage to fledge one of the chicks.
